In this COVID-19 era, a game like cricket too is being played using the concept of closed door. West Indies and England are on a Test series season these days. Ollie Pope an English batsman gained attention after playing an excellent game and contributing 91 runs in the third test against West Indies. He has been quoted as a rising star by many and he proved it in the first innings of the third match.

His brilliance was appreciated by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who made Ollie Pope’s day when he said he sees a new Ian Bell in the English player.
Ollie Pope was not able to make a mark in the first two tests, but the way he played in the third test match made him earned appreciation. West Indies pacers were easily handled by him and his strokes.
Sachin used Twitter to praise his technique and temperament. Ian Bell of former times who made over 13000 international runs in all formats was one of the best cricketers of his time. Sachin Tendulkar closely observed Ollies Pope’s style and found it nearing to Ian Bell’s play.
“Been watching the 3rd Test, @OPope32 seems to have modeled his batting on @Ian_Bell His stance and footwork looks exactly the same to me,” Sachin tweeted on Saturday. Bell reacted to Sachin comparing Pope with him and wrote, “Who am I to argue with the great man, @sachin_rt! Hopefully, @OPope32 can kick on and score a big hundred today.”
The impressive star of England’s side Ollie Pope has been ballyhoo as a rising star and has impressed all. He missed hitting a 100, though had batted well. Shannon Gabriel of West Indies’ side dismissed him at 91. A good total was put on the scoreboard where Rory Burns and Jos Butler added their fifties along with Ollie Pope. There were 140 runs added for the fifth wicket along with Pope.
English side was dominating the game on Day 2 whereas the bowlers too did a great job. A lead of 232 runs is created by England and if West Indies have to be in the game they need to near the score on Day 3.
It has been absolutely a delight to watch the West Indies tour of England for Test Series. West Indians had won the first match played at Southampton by 4 wickets. England won the second match in Manchester by 113 runs. This makes the third match all the more interesting as the winner of this match will decide the winner of the series.
Well, we need to wait and watch who becomes the winner of the game moves towards a draw. But all said and done who so ever wins at the end of the day it’s the game which wins hearts.
