The iPhone 2024 will all be with OLED screens. This statement has been circulating on the network for some time. Many media claim that Apple’s next mobile phones will completely abandon LCD screens.
This change in the iPhone 12 has been mentioned since the beginning of 2019 and the latest news, instead of denying this claim, reinforces it. A South Korean media outlet says the apple company is looking for a second OLED display manufacturer to complete the mobile phones of the year that is about to begin.
Samsung will continue to be the leading manufacturer of iPhone screens, but Apple would be thinking of placing BOE in second place. This Chinese company would receive the order of 45 million OLED panels that would be destined to be part of the iPhone sold in 2024.
In this way, LG Display would be relegated to a third-place and behind it would be Japan Display which is the company that supplies Apple with smaller OLED panels, that is, for Apple Watch.
The BOE company also supplies Huawei with these types of screens for its Mate phone series. What is not known, for now, is whether the mobile phones sold by Apple in 2024 will also have screens from this manufacturer or take another year to complete the collaboration.
The latest Apple phones to appear, the iPhone 11, continue to wear LCD screens. While its most premium version, the iPhone 11 Pro does have an OLED panel. As happened in 2018, this last year, Apple has combined these two types of screens in its different models, something that would not happen in the next presentation of the brand for the last quarter of 2024.
This is one of the most powerful predictions in recent months, along with other weaker ones that talk about the possibility of Apple including curved edges on the iPhone. Even so, there are still many months to continue knowing the success of the iPhone 11 in the market and prepare for the next iPhone 12 and its novelties.
