It was the time  (May 1, 1945) when “Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu” was born in the village of Anwara Haildhar.

Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu was a very genius student. His addiction  for his studies was extreme level. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu graduated from Patia High School in 1958. Then in the same year he was admitted to the popular and well-established Notre Dame College in Dhaka. While in intermediate class, he received a scholarship for his genius mind and abilities, which led to his admission to the Illions University Of Science And Technology In United States/America. Then he continued his studies at the Business Administration at New York University. After finishing his studies in December 1964, this talented son of Bangladesh  returned to his homeland with an associate degree.

His father’s name was Nuruzzaman Chowdhury, who was a zamindar in his area and also was a lawyer by profession. His mother was Khorsheda Begum, who was a housewife. Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu grew up behind the caress of his parents. 

Chowdhury Babu’s Personal Life – 

He got married to Nur Nahar Zaman, the second daughter of the past due Alhaj Sirajul Islam Chowdhury of Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong. He is the father of 3 sons and 4 daughters. He always expressed his loveable passion and affection for his family. He did his best to do what a father needs to do. He fulfilled his role as an ideal and gentle father. He established all of his childrens by educating them in a proper way. This great man was quite happy with his family. 

Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu’s Political Journey –

His affection for politics was from his youth. Patriotism and love for country seemed to be full of him. As a result, he become elected as a member of “Dakshin Zila Chhatra League” in 1958 while he turned into analyzing in Secondary. From this he entered politics. Then it was time when Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu officially began of his political career. His love for politics doubled when he was young. So he thought that whatever he did in life, he would stay in politics. He joined the Awami League in 1967. From then on, the political career of “Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu” started permanently.

He changed into the elected chairman of Haildhar Union Parishad from 1967 to 1975. Even after independence, he turned into the chairman of Haildhar Union Parishad and chairman of Thana Parishad. In 1970, “Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu” turned into an elected member of the provincial council from West Patia and Anwara within the standard election. He was one of the reformers of the 1972 constitution. He changed into elected Member of the Provincial Council (MPA) in 1970. In that context, Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury has become a member of the Bangladesh people’s assembly formed in 1972 and played a considerable position in drafting the constitution of Bangladesh. After independence in 1986 Akhtaruzzaman was elected Member of Parliament. He was also re-elected as a Member of Parliament in 1991 and 2009 due to his qualifications and skills. After independence, Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu changed into an elected president of the South District Awami League. 

Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu Was A Real Hero Of 1971 –

When the non-cooperation movement was going on on the eve of the liberation war, Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury was conducting the activities of the struggle committee from his “Jupiter House” in Patharghata. After the declaration of independence of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu came to Chittagong, it was cyclostyled from Akhtaruzzaman’s Jupiter House. The people have delivered all the news to it in time. 

When the war of liberation started, he migrated to India. While there, he achieved numerous duties of the expatriate Bangladesh government. Among various good works, he was an active and ideal member of the relief and rehabilitation committee of the Mujibnagar government. The war of liberation needed various helping hands. He himself extended a helping hand, and in order to build world public opinion with the people of the world, he traveled to Foreign and visited various parts of Europe and America. He first went to London. From there, Akhtaruzzaman went to the United states as a member of the Bangladesh delegation led by means of Justice Abu Saeed Chowdhury. Akhtaruzzaman has been lively in numerous works in view of the start of the warfare of liberation.
