No external circuitry is required by the ADM3251EARWZ for its logic interfaces. Power supply bypassing is required at the input and output supply pins. Bypass capacitors are connected between Pin3 and Pin4 and between Pin19 and Pin20 for VCC and for VISO respectively. The capacitor value should be between 0.01 μF and 0.1 μF. The total lead length between both ends of the capacitor and the input power supply pin should not exceed 20 mm.

Because the heat sink cannot be applied to isolation device, heat is dissipated into the PCB through the ground pins. The board layout shows enlarged pads for Pin4, Pin5, Pin6, Pin7, Pin10, and Pin11. In applications involving high common-mode transients, board coupling across the isolation barrier should be minimized. Moreover, the board layout should be designed such that any coupling that does occur equally affects all pins on a given component side. The power supply section uses a 300 MHz oscillator frequency to pass through its chip-scale transformers.
