How does the email system work?
The email system of traditional hosts is quite simple to use. The configuration of email addresses is done via the control panel of your personal account. The control panel allows you to change your email passwords. Any change is immediately active.
which email options might you need?
The configuration of your email addresses is divided into four different categories. All the hosting plans all have these four categories usable or not according to your needs:
Default email forwarding (unlimited addresses).
Specification of email aliases.
Creation of POP accounts.
Email responders.

By default, all email sent to your domain ([email protected]) is returned to the email address you provided when your account was established. Unless you want specific email hosting uk addresses to be sent to different forwarding addresses, you do not need to install a forwarding option, such as. your default address can be [email protected], but you want [email protected] to be sent to a different address like [email protected], in which case you must set a forwarding option.
Each plan has a specific number of email forwarding options, which you can set up through your dashboard. To do this :
Go to your dashboard at www.yourdomain.com/stats/; you must enter your user id and password.
Click on ‘E-mail configuration’
In the e-mail resending section, enter the address you want to resend, e.g. sales, in the left column
In the right column, enter the address to which you want the email to be sent.
Click on the validate button.
Eg. if your default forwarding address is on Compuserve but you want [email protected] to be sent to [email protected], you must set up email forwarding this way:

It is UNNECESSARY to list the user names you want to return to the default address.
Include only one email hosting uk in each box. If you try to resend mail to more than one address (eg forwarding to [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]), problems may arise.
POP accounts creation
You create email addresses associated with POP accounts.
Example:
[email protected] redirects to the mailbox called jean45.
The mails thus arrive directly on the server. You can change the mailbox password at any time.
Email Responders
Whether you reply to the same type of email on a daily basis or simply want to add an automatic reply to emails sent to a specific domain address, you can do this using email responder.
An email responder sends a standard response email message (based on a text file you specify) to anyone who sends mail to a specific email address (that you specify) on your domain.
Each of the hosting plans allows you to install a specific number of email responders, for free. You can install e-mail responders for a small additional cost.
How to install an e-mail responder
Create a simple text file containing the message you want to send automatically (e.g. reply.txt) and transfer it to your server in ASCII mode via FTP (Automatic reply messages can only send messages in text format).
Use your web browser to go to the ’email configuration’ section of your account dashboard (go to yourdomain.com/stats/ and enter your user id and password; then click on ’email configuration’ mail ‘and re-enter your user id and password, if necessary). This page allows you to set up your e-mail answering machine and automatic reply messages as well as email forwarding, pop accounts for your account.
Go to the ‘e-mail responders’ section of your ‘e-mail configuration’ page. It looks like this:

Under the heading “@your_domain”, enter the email address, in your field, provided to request the e-mail responder. For example, you want to send an autoresponder message to anyone who sends mail to “[email protected]”, you must enter “info”. When a user sends an e-mail message to this address ([email protected]), the e-mail responder automatically responds with the message you specify.
Under the heading “File to send”, enter the location of the text file that you transferred in step 1, containing the message. The text of this file will be sent in an email, to anyone sending an email to the address you specified in step 4. Make sure to enter the full path to the file linked to your main directory (example: /reponders/info.txt). If you transferred the file to the main level of your account (the ‘root’), you just need to enter the name of the file, since the file is not in subdirectories.
Under the heading “Sender”, enter the e-mail address from which you want your e-mail responder to come. This address will appear in the ‘From:’ of the email message. If the user responds to the email responder, the response will be sent to that email address.
Optionally, under the heading “forwarded to”, enter the email address of a person from whom you wish to receive a copy of the original incoming mail, requested by the answering machine.
In the example above, anyone sending an email to [email protected] you will receive an automatic response, via email, containing a message from a file called “info.txt”. If the recipient replies to the answering machine, his response will be sent to the address “[email protected]”. Likewise, a copy of the original incoming mail will be sent to “[email protected]”.
Add Object: line
Most e-mail messages you receive have the following headline information: To :, From :, Subject :. To specify a subject, you can simply add a line at the top of the text file (step 1) stating:
Subject: Information about our services
You must replace ‘Information about our services’ with the subject you wish to mention in the letter.
