Types of Generators

Generators refer to appliances that are standalone meant for providing electricity in case of experiencing power outages.  Their main role is to be a backup supply, especially to commercial and residential places such as hospitals, homes. At Westinghouse generator, you will get all types of generators, and it will be up to you to pick what you think is going to work for you.

There are a variety of generators, depending on what you want to use it. There are some which are specifically for house use while others are for commercial purposes. Each generator has its characteristics and its features that are unique. The following are some types of generators with their pros and cons.

Standalone generators

In most cases, they are referred to as the backup generators or emergency power systems.  They are meant to start once the grid power goes off automatically.  They are important in residential apartments, restaurants, and hospitals. They tend to enhance safety in incubators, fire protection systems, and life support systems found in hospitals and elevators and lifts.

To run, they use gas or diesel, which typically needs huge external reservoirs sufficient to hold them operating for at least 48 hours before another refill. Its commercial engine is vast. It also has an automatic transfer switch, which is switched to action when there is a blackout. Power loss is detected instantly to react immediately to ensure continuous power supply.

Natural gas generator

Natural gas is one of the most effective and safe fuels on the planet. It functions much like other generator forms. To produce energy, it uses either propane or liquefied petroleum gas. The most efficient explanation for natural gas is that it can be contained in reservoirs, underground, or surface pipes. As such, it makes the generators extremely robust.

And, since gas is available naturally if you use these generators, you will undoubtedly have an infinite supply of it. For these engines, running out of fuel is difficult. For them to be linked to the gas line is the most important thing.

Diesel generators

A diesel generator is commonly referred to as a Genset diesel. When integrating efforts, the diesel engine and electric generator will transform the energy stored in diesel fuel into electricity. It is used in households and manufacturing plants as well. Its internal combustion engines fire both fuel and air when powered by diesel.

Portable generators

Just like other items you can find in online stores, portable generators are readily available. In offering temporary electrical power, they are helpful. They have varying configurations of power based on various uses. They can also be used for remote applications such as powering a TV or refrigerator in natural disasters that cause power outages.

Gasoline generators

Gasoline generators are also called gas generators. People prefer using these generators in areas; there is the easy availability of gasoline. Also, compared to other types, gasoline generators are cheaper, making many people go after them. If you require fewer power supplies, these generators are more appropriate. A standby gasoline generator for efficient output is more suitable for home installation.
