A great salesperson has a “je-ne-sais-quoi” that makes you want to buy from them, regardless of what they are selling. Furthermore, a great salesperson will have you feel great about spending money. In fact, great salespeople are a rare breed. The little dirty secret that most people do not know is that there is a method to become great in sales.

Some people are great at selling because they were raised in such environment as the brick and mortar business of their parents. They practically grew up behind the cash register and selling for them is second nature.

Most customers can feel when a salesperson does not possess the natural selling qualities. They experience that uneasy feeling in their gut that the person in front of them is not interested in their best interest.

Of course, it helps to sell a great product but some salesmen could sell ice to Eskimos.

Other successful entrepreneurs report selling from their garage crafts that they made. These crafts were not better than others, the sellers were.

Although business mindset is not per se inherited, unless we discover a business chromosome, we can safely say that most young entrepreneurs get it from their parents. They are exposed at a very young age to entrepreneurship. They also often have the support of their parents in following their creative business ideas as their parents understand the lifestyle.

The entrepreneurs that are worth looking at are the ones who learned hard business lessons from their parents. They witnessed that working hard and getting back on your feet after a failure is what makes a good business. They saw their parents working constantly and not always succeeding in their ventures.

The lesson though they kept from their parents is that success is measured by how you get back on your feet after a failure.

Russell Brunson, the co-founder of ClickFunnels, reports being on the verge of bankruptcy twice and both times, his creative mind found solutions that rose him as a multi-millionaire. People have to realize though that he works relentlessly to make his business go forward and is far from living the 4 hours week laptop business.

Mike Filsaime, the founder of GrooveFunnel, is another hard-working great salesman who has sold for over one million dollars in less than 24 hours multiple times. Many of his customers are loyal to him as they know his integrity and fairness.  He is the co-founder of Kartra and respected his two-year non-competition agreement when he parted from the company.
